Lily Suriyaty Azumi Is A Greenie At Heart
by marya arshad
Lily
is
one
person
who
has
the
ability
of
making
you
feel
comfortable
the
very
first
time
you
meet
her.
She
is
vivacious,
caring,
confident
and
extremely
goal-oriented.
Over tea at her lovely home up on the hill, Lily, a Crude Scheduler with an international petroleum company, talks about her lifestyle and shares her views on the environment up on Bukit Antarabangsa.
What are your hobbies?
I enjoy reading, gardening, doing a bit of Yoga and just strolling around the BA area in the evening with my daughter, AdrianaYour work keeps you so busy. Do you find the time to cook or entertain at home?
Tell us about the kind of food you enjoy making?
I am very passionate about food and I love pasta dishes. Spaghetti Bolognese is my specialty and I usually prepare the sauce from scratch. I spent about 7-8 years living in Europe, which explains why I'm more at ease preparing Italian dishes for my guests and family.
Where do you do your grocery shopping?
There are two places I shop at. For convenience, I go to Giant, BA or Cold Storage at Great Eastern Mall for the things that Giant doesn't stock.
How long have you lived in BA and why did you pick the location?
I have lived in BA since 2002. My father bought the house way back in 1986 due to the hilly and calm surroundings back then.
What do you like most about living up on the hill?
The 'Cameron Highlands like' effect after it rains.
What do you think of the environment preservation efforts here?
Zero.
Ministers
launch
campaigns
to
preserve
the
environment
all
the
time,
unfortunately
they
are
not
in
line
with
what
local
government
is
currently
practising.
If
you
had
your
way,
which
neighbourhood,
local
or
foreign,
would
you
like
Bukit
Antarabangsa
to
emulate.
Taman TAR in Ampang where the cleanliness of the area is well maintained. I also like the calm feeling as you are almost surrounded by the rich foliage and the abundance of tall, matured trees. Well, I'm a greenie at heart!
